Students are assessed by their teachers as they participate in the daily classroom instructional program. Teachers use a variety of methods to assess the progress of students. Teachers report the progress through mid-term reports and each nine weeks on the quarterly report card. All schools have a program that allows parents and students to check grades throughout the nine weeks on the computer.
At the end of each quarter (nine weeks) a grade is assigned for each class in which the student is enrolled. The grading scale is: 90-100 = A, 80-89 = B, 70-79 = C, 60-69 = D and 0-59 = F. The report card will also reflect information regarding the student's attendance and conduct.
FSA/EOC students are assessed annually using Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). Students in Grades 3 thru 11 take ELA (English and Language Arts). They also take Mathematics criterion-referenced tests on the Standards around which our curriculum is based. Students in Grades 5, 8 and 11 are also given the FCAT 2.0 assessment for science. Students in 7th grade participate in the Civics EOC. Accelerated students take the the Algebra I and Geometry EOC.
