Stop-arm Camera Enforcement
Passing a stopped school bus scenarios.

Effective July 1, 2023 Florida Statute 316.173 permitted school districts to contract with third-party providers for stop-arm camera violation enforcement. Santa Rosa County District Schools has partnered with AngelTrax and the Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Office to enforce school bus stop-arm violations within Santa Rosa County.

Starting March 4, 2024, violators will receive a citation by mail. These violations will be sent to the 1st registered person of the vehicle in violation. The violator will have three options to take care of the citation:

1. Pay the fine ($225) online or by mailing a check to the address listed on the citation received.

2. Complete an affidavit requesting the citation be transferred to the responsible party who is not the 1st registered owner of the vehicle.

3. Contest the citation and request an appearance in front of a hearing officer (if the citation is upheld, the violator will be responsible for the cost of the fine plus any additional courts costs as determined by the hearing officer).

Failure to perform one of these three options within 30 days of the violation, the Sheriffs Office will issue an additional Uniform Traffic Citation that will require the person to appear in court. This citation could result in the violation being reported to the Department of Motor Vehicles for further actions against your drivers license.
