Social Studies

Amy Parker returned to Santa Rosa County to be the Coordinator of Social Studies and World Languages in 2024. She brings 18 years of experience to the position. She began her career at Gulf Breeze High School where she served for ten years as the Advanced Placement United States History teacher, girls' basketball and softball coach, and Mock Trial coach. During her time at Gulf Breeze High School, she was awarded Teacher of the Year and the James Madison Memorial Fellowship and is the only Panhandle teacher to ever earn this national distinction. She holds a Master of Arts in American History and Government from Ashland University and a Master of Science from Barry University.  Most recently, she was the middle school history teacher at Creative Learning Academy in Pensacola The product of five generations of public educators, she is excited to serve the students, faculty, and staff in Santa Rosa County.  In her spare time, she loves camping, hiking, and exploring. 

The goal of the Social Studies program is to help students develop the ability to make informed, and reasoned decisions for the public good, as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.

World Languages

With 8 years of experience as a World Language and English educator, Beth has joined our Social Studies and World Languages Department as the TSA for World Languages. She's part of our exciting $2 million DoDEA WLARP grant initiative!

Beth's mission?
1️⃣ Expand Spanish achievement by bringing Broadcast Classroom Spanish 1 to military-connected middle schools.
2️⃣ Promote language diversity through hands-on STEAM enrichment activities.
