Benefits

School Board employees have a choice of three health insurance plans. Employee's may select coverage for employee only, employee + spouse, employee + child(ren), employee + family or 2 employee family. Florida Blue is the carrier for all health plan coverage. Two Blue Medicare plans are available to Medicare eligible retirees.

Two dental insurance plans are offered with coverage for employee only, employee + spouse, employee + child(ren) or employee + family. United Healthcare is the carrier for both dental plans.

The School Board provides a life insurance policy to each employee at no cost. Employees also have the option of selecting additional supplemental life insurance coverage. Voya is the carrier for basic and supplemental life coverage.

Employees may also elect a vision plan for employee only, employee + spouse, employee + child(ren) or employee + family. Davis Vision is the carrier for vision coverage.

A long term disability plan is offered with coverage for the employee only. USAble Life is the carrier for the group long term disability policy.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA's) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA's) are also available to employees.

Visit the Optavise/Web Benefit Design Website to:​

  • Enroll for Benefits as a new employee

  • Change personal contact information such as address, phone number, email address

  • Change beneficiary information

  • Enroll or change benefit elections during the annual open enrollment period

Please contact Risk Management for qualifying event status changes to benefits outside the annual open enrollment period. Examples of qualifying events include:

  • Marital Status Change (marriage, divorce, death of spouse)

  • Judgment/Decree/Court Order

  • Change in Number of Dependents (birth, death, adoption)

  • Spouse's open enrollment

  • Gain or loss of dependent's eligibility status

For qualifying events during the year outside of the open enrollment window you have 30 days from the event date to make a change request and provide documentation.
