High School Seniors

In partnership with Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans and the Santa Rosa County School District, one 2-Year Florida College Plan Scholarship valued at approximately $8,000 will be awarded to one senior graduating from one of SRCDS’s public high schools.

This scholarship will cover tuition and other specified fees for 60 lower division semester credit hours at any of the 28 Florida public colleges. Although the Plan is designed to be used at a Florida College, the Plan can also be used at a State University and pro-rated accordingly. Plans can also be used at instate, out-of-state, public, or private schools around the country; the value paid to other schools is the same as Florida Prepaid would have paid to a Florida school based on the student’s plan type. The student will have six years to use the plan.

GUIDELINES

• Applicant must be a resident of Santa Rosa County who is enrolled in a SRCDS public high school

• Applicant must be on track to graduate in May 2023 with plans to attend a post-secondary college or university to continue their education

• Decisions of the selection committee judges are final

• Applicants should include the completed application form, essay, and counselor’s recommendation form

• Response to essay must be typed – Essay Title - Receiving This Scholarship Would Change the Trajectory of My Future

• Applicants should retain a completed copy of scholarship submission for their records

• All submitted entries become the property of SRCDS and will be shredded upon completion of the selection and award process.

CRITERIA

• GPA of 3.0 or higher

• No pattern of discipline issues

• Proven characteristics of leadership, community service, and academic success

Florida Prepaid Superintendent's Scholarship 2023

Santa Rosa County District Schools is pleased to partner with Florida Prepaid offer one deserving high school senior and one incoming kindergarten student the chance to earn a monetary scholarship. Please take a look at the guidelines below and don't miss out on a chance to create an additional pathway for your child's successful future.

Kindergarten Students

In partnership with Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans and the Santa Rosa County School District, one Scholarship of $1,000 in a Florida 529 Savings Plan will be awarded to one Kindergartner enrolled in one of SRCDS’s public schools.

This scholarship can be used for tuition and other specified needs at any of the 28 Florida public colleges. Although the Plan is designed to be used at a Florida College, the funds can also be used at a State University and pro-rated accordingly. Plans can also be used at in-state, out-of-state, public, or private schools around the country; the value paid to other schools is the same as Florida Prepaid would have paid to a Florida school based on the student’s plan type. The student will have ten years to use the plan from the student’s identified expected graduation year.

GUIDELINES

• Applicant must be a resident of Santa Rosa County and enrolled in a Santa Rosa County School District public school.

• Applicant must plan to attend a post-secondary college or university to continue their education. • Decisions of the selection committee judges are final.

• Applicant should include the completed application form with essay and parent/guardian’s scholarship agreement.

• Student exhibits a pattern of good attendance and behavior.

• Student shows characteristics of curiosity, creativity, empathy, and academic success.
